Animal: Horned Tomato Worm

The Horned Tomato Worm, scientifically known as Manduca quinquemaculata, is a voracious caterpillar infamous for its appetite and distinctive horn-like protrusion on its rear end. Found in gardens and agricultural fields, these green larvae are the offspring of the Sphinx moth. Despite their destructive feeding habits on tomato plants and other crops, the Horned Tomato Worm plays a role in the ecosystem as a part of the natural food chain.
