Animal: Orangutan
The orangutan, meaning “person of the forest” in Malay, is a highly intelligent and critically endangered great ape native to the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. Belonging to the Hominidae family, orangutans are known for their distinctive reddish-brown fur, long arms, and impressive arboreal prowess. With remarkable cognitive abilities and complex social structures, orangutans are the only great apes found in Asia.
